China news agency, Beijing, January 11 (Reporter Yu Zhanyi) – Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met in Beijing in 11 U.S. Special Representative of the President , Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
Xi Jinping stressed that both China and the U.S. in 2012 for a critical year. Both deal with the complicated global and regional challenges, or to promote the U.S. agenda in their respective countries to maintain stable development of Sino-US relations are crucial. The two sides should firmly grasp the correct direction of Sino-US relations, and unswervingly implement the important consensus reached by leaders of both countries to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen political, economic, cultural and other areas of dialogue, exchange and cooperation, keeping in major international and regional issues of communication and coordination, enhance mutual trust, eliminate interference, and promote China-US mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win partnership building. China is ready to expand U.S. economic and financial cooperation, both sides should strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination, to resolve their differences through equal consultation, instead of politicizing economic issues, which will help the two countries for sustainable economic growth, but also conducive to world economic recovery as soon as possible.
Geithner said the United States to work with China to work together to develop closer economic and trade cooperation, and jointly promote China’s economic growth, maintain global financial stability and stimulate global economic recovery, promote international system of governance. (End)
